New York agency BBDO approached us to produce a job for AT&T ‘U-Verse’ which would be used as an app on the Apple iPhone’s to promote their new television services. Our role was to create 6 different environments which would blend together through a continuous zoom effect. Each scene had to be designed so that the central zoom area was large enough to transport you to the next scene after traveling through the one before, and all the same size so that the motion was fluid and repeatable.
TJ played a key role in this project, from commission to final delivery in just three short weeks. We used a mixture of CGI and photography to create each scene, with our retouch department bringing all elements together seamlessly, colour grading each shot so that they all felt like a family.
With an in-house photography team at hand, it meant we could fully plan out and integrate the CGI with the photographic elements, cutting down on the overall production time and costs. With this, also came the essential task of location scouting, casting, wardrobe, set design and props- all this and retouch, CGI integration, to a very tight budget.
With a fixed timescale on this project, it was vital that our creative team could make decisions about the look and feel of the project as it developed, whilst meeting the requirements of the agency and the original brief. This allowed us to move forward quickly with the complex production process receiving approval from the agency at key points and producing a final result which both BBDO and AT&T were very happy with.
