EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

The primary purpose of an Executive Producer (Business Development) at Taylor James is to drive sales by building relationships with new customers as well as growing revenues from existing clients. As part of the Business Development team you are responsible for elevating our market position within our target sectors (brands/advertisers & advertising agencies) in order to secure profitable, long-term client relationships for the business.

 
 

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meeting or exceeding monthly and annual revenue targets through nurturing new business opportunities in both prospective and existing clients. 

  • Maintaining a high level of business development activity (cold calls, emails, and meetings, quotes) in order to achieve these targets and our KPI’s.

  • Prospecting for business primarily within the London marketing and advertising industry, but also within the rest of the UK and EMEA as well as any other sectors or regions you may be assigned to. Additionally, you will be required from time to time to support global sales efforts via our other studios/partners.

  • Developing the requisite level of knowledge in our offering and case studies, so that you are able to competently communicate the key points, handle client questions and overcome any objections.

  • Able to consistently arrange face-to-face meetings, through cold calling/emailing, with the right level of contacts within the target client.

  • Planning, preparing and running initial client meetings. Will use good questioning, probing and listening skills to uncover a client’s potential needs.

  • Creating and tailoring presentations for the target client/audience and effectively delivering these in both a one-on-one or larger group environment.

  • Ability to map and navigate target customer company structure to find other departments and opportunities.

  • Identifying and nurturing long term client relationships that deliver repeat business.

  • Handling initial client enquiries, which involve understanding their potential requirements and then pulling together the relevant team members to assist you with developing a response.

  • Once an opportunity arises, you will work with the creative/production team to put together detailed proposals including quotations, scopes of work, treatments, RFP’s that fit the client’s requirements whilst maintaining our required margins.

  • Collaborating with creative/production team to find innovative ways to meet the client’s needs as well as managing their expectations. Must be able to effectively communicate the basics of our proposal, thus helping us to win the work.

  • Negotiating with the client to close the deal. Actively following up on all of your prospective proposals and keeping sales management abreast of any developments.

  • Ensuring a smooth handover of won projects to the Production team. Whilst the day-to-day running of live projects is not your direct responsibility, you are required to follow them through to completion to ensure best service for our clients. If required, you may be asked to assist at certain stages of the project.

  • Keeping your clients informed of any relevant updates and new work so that Taylor James is front of mind when new opportunities arise.

  • Working with Sales Management and Marketing to develop ideas for campaigns and materials that help to generate enquiries. When required, following up on any marketing campaigns that have been sent out.

  • Supporting all business development related activities: administration, reporting, research, CRM and record keeping, client entertainment, overseas client trips, industry and networking events.

  • Work closely with Sales Management for coaching and mentoring needs, client strategy, planning activities and reporting.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to being a highly-organised multitasker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the following skills are a must:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a sales/client driven environment with a proven track record of hitting stretch targets.

  • Established network of contacts within this role’s key target sectors in the UK & EMEA

    • Brands/Advertisers (marketing, brand, product)

    • Advertising/creative agencies (print, digital, TV)

    • Photographers/agent

  • A solid understanding of the marketing/creative/advertising/media landscape and corresponding client structure and ideally also of the production process.

  • First rates sales and negotiation skills with a passion for building and maintaining client relationships.

  • Confident, persuasive and articulate communicator both in person and in writing.

  • Positive and tenacious, using intelligence and initiative to achieve results.

  • Team player, who can work collaboratively and motivate others in order to reach a common goal.

  • A self-motivated individual with a desire to constantly improve themselves, their team and the wider business around them.

  • Some overseas travel, mainly within Europe, will be required as part of this role as well as entertaining clients and attending events outside of normal working hours.

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of Keynote (Apple) and InDesign (Adobe) advantageous.

  • Good knowledge of CRM systems (ideally Salesforce).
