Role Overview

In this position you will work with our CGI and VFX teams across Europe and the Americas to support workflows, and processes critical to our global CGI and VFX pipeline. You will bring to bear experience and understanding of pipeline, from previsualization through rendering, comp, finishing and delivery, helping identify, manage and resolve technical challenges to facilitate ease and efficiency throughout. You will also work alongside our development team to support existing tools, also build and integrate customized solutions to acute production challenges in a deadline driven creative development space, where output of the highest quality is expected.

Responsibilities 

  • Manage and oversee Thinkbox/Deadline based network render farm, submission mechanisms and render wrangling workflows used by V-Ray, Arnold, Mantra and Redshift

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and optimize DCC scene files in Maya, Houdini, Cinema4D, 3ds Max and Nuke

  • Provide custom ad-hoc solutions to alleviate production pressure points in CG and Compositing with rapid results

  • Contribute to long term projects and innovations designed toward improving pipeline, workflow and production automation

  • Work with IT to maintain system environments in support of creative development and rendering pipelines

  • Oversee version managed 3rd party and custom toolsets native to a range of DCC applications including Maya, Houdini, Cinema 4D, 3ds Max, Nuke and the Adobe Creative Suite

  • Contribute to tools development in support of real-time creative solutions built atop UE4+


Skills & Qualifications 

  • In depth production knowledge of 3ds Max and V-Ray, with production exposure to Maya, Houdini and Nuke

  • Full understanding of professional level CG and compositing pipelines

  • Excellent at both technical and non-technical communication, both written and verbal

  • 3+ years production experience with scripting languages, Python, MEL, with MaxScript a plus.

  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git, Perforce or Mercurial, etc.

  • Familiarity with principles of object-oriented programming

  • Qt/PySide2 integrations across a range of applications

Beneficial Knowledge 

  • Deadline plugin and event management systems

  • Content Management Systems like NIM or Shotgun

  • Real-time application development in Unreal Engine 4+
