Created as speculative work, this film explores the Renault 5 through dynamic crash zooms and pixel transitions that reveal hidden worlds within its design. From a headlight to a dashboard texture, each detail transforms into a stylised microverse where a miniature R5 comes to life before re-emerging as part of the full-scale car. The piece creates a visual illusion that turns the vehicle’s sophisticated design into a layered, cinematic environment full of confidence and attitude.

The Renault 5 is no longer just a car. It becomes a crafted universe of innovation and imagination, a small yet bold presence in a vast and ever-expanding world.

Production Look & Feel

Visually, the film blends retro charm with futuristic flair, honouring the brand’s iconic past while embracing its electric future. A bold colour palette, inspired by the current R5 campaign, complements the enlarged design details with attitude.

Smooth camera movements reflect the R5’s playful personality, while crash zooms inject rebellious energy. Pixel transitions bring a nostalgic digital edge, bridging past and future. Soft, moon-like elements orbit the environment, hinting at a playful, self-made universe where the R5 sets its own rules. The tone is confident, expressive, and layered, presenting a small car with a big personality that is ready to stand out across hero films, digital cutdowns and interactive content.

Still Production

Crops

The hero film was created in Unreal Engine using a low-poly model of the Renault 5 EV, enhanced with a custom grade for a stylised finish. Overscanning the frames created a wider and more dynamic sense of environment, offering flexibility to generate high-quality assets across multiple platforms, from OOH to web and digital, while maintaining a consistent and visually striking aesthetic.

Pushing Stills Further

Alongside the animation, we developed a complementary poster series that pushes the stills further. By extending the surreal, studio-set world of the film, we created a bold set of visuals that spotlight the Renault 5’s design features through abstract camera angles and curated lighting.

Text elements, styled as futuristic infographics, draw from the R5’s design language, while graphic overlays echo the car’s distinctive shapes to create rhythm and depth. The result is a campaign that feels forward-looking yet rooted in automotive heritage, playful, premium and unmistakably R5.
